Charleston Attractions
and Sightseeing |
A
mild coastal climate allows for visitors to take
advantage of tremendous opportunities to explore
the area, and its good thing Mother Nature cooperates
because there’s much to see. The historic
area’s beautiful and proud fortifications
represented turning points in the history of
the country.
Fort Sumter is the scene for the first
shots of the Civil War, while Fort Moultrie is
known for being home to the first decisive patriot
victory of the American Revolution. However there
is more, including homes and museums rich in history
as well as educational opportunities to learn more
through guided walks, boat rides and tours.
There
are also homes belonging to famous Charlestonians,
which are now made public and part of the area’s
rich museum life. It’s a cultural center
and a wide variety of opportunities to soak it
all in are available.
Here’s a guide of some of the cultural
